Bob Cady currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer for The Risk Authority Stanford (TRA Stanford) as well as Senior Vice President of Strategic Business Operations for Stanford Health Care and Stanford Children’s Health. In his roles, Bob provides the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that TRA Stanford has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place to effectively grow the organization and to ensure financial strength and operating efficiency. He also advises clients on issues regarding high-reliability operations and organizational resiliency as well as strategic and enterprise risk management.
Bob retired from the US Navy in 2015 after a highly successful 26-year career, where he led units of increasing size and diversity from 40 up through 700 plus personnel. Additionally, he completed major operational deployments during a stint as the director of all aviation operations for one of the Navy’s ten nuclear-powered aircraft carriers.
He spent five years on the Department of Defense and Navy Staff in Washington DC performing political and financial risk management and analysis for major aircraft and aircraft carrier acquisition programs. In these roles, he advised senior government officials on complex risk and capital investment decisions with multi-billion dollar valuations.
Bob is a meritorious graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, RI. He is certified by the American Institute For Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters as an Associate in Risk Management – Enterprise Risk Management, and as a Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute (PMI).
