TRA Stanford Presents ASHRM Healthcare Risk Management (HRM) Week June 18-22
–HRM Week Webinar on June 21 will explore the eight ERM risk domains
Palo Alto, Calif. (June 7, 2018) – In partnership with the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management, The Risk Authority Stanford is sponsoring Healthcare Risk Management Week 2018 (June 18-22) to raise awareness of risk management and patient safety issues. The week will feature the HRM Week Webinar – Leading Together: How Risk Managers Touch the 8 Risk Domains on June 21.
The theme of ASHRM’s HRM Week 2018 is “Leading Together” to celebrate the leadership that health care risk management professionals provide for their organizations. In an Enterprise Risk Management environment (ERM), the health care risk manager provides leadership through collaboration with stakeholders across the entire organization with the common goal of delivering safe and trusted health care.
Led by Amy Uldrick RN, MSN, CPHRM and Edward Hall, Jr., MS, CSP of TRA Stanford, the HRM Week Webinar on June 21 will describe how risk management professionals can be an active part of ERM through participation in risk evaluation using the eight ERM Risk Domains (operational, clinical/safety, strategic, finance, human capital, legal/regulatory, technology, and hazard). Discussion will emphasize the role of the risk manager in leading proactive risk-based thinking in the ERM organization, including methods for identifying risks within each domain and how to use the ERM decision-making process to guide analysis and risk mitigation. Visit ashrm.org to register.
Risk management and other health care professionals can help raise awareness of risk management and patient safety issues by downloading the HRM Week Toolkit. This free resource includes template press releases, talking points, information about the profession and more. Interested professionals are also encouraged to take the HRM Week Quiz. This online quiz was developed as an educational tool to help participants reinforce the concepts of health care risk management, patient safety and root cause analysis.
